Big Headline: How to Grow Followers Across Social Channels

FCC Commissioner Aims to Remove TikTok from App Stores

Making headlines once again, TikTok might be barred from Apple and Google app stores due to the social app’s ‘pattern of surreptitious data practice’. So… what could this mean for TikTok? Here’s what we know.

  1. TikTok tracks extensive data inputs, including browsing histories, keystroke patterns, and biometric identifiers, and can access images and videos stored on users’ devices.

  2. According to the FCC, there are several bipartisan leaders in the House and Senate that have raised concerns over the app— enough to remove it from the U.S. entirely.

  3. Former President Donald Trump issued an executive order to force the sale of the app into US ownership (although the legal grounding fell through the cracks).

Audience’s Perspective — TikTok’s ownership is a definite concern, and brands should be cognizant that their activities may not be 100% secure. If you are concerned about sensitive information, you may want to consider a dedicated, clean device for your TikTok activities.
